The Cornell note-taking method is an effective system designed to help students take concise and revision ready notes. 

1. In the right-hand column, record detailed notes during lectures or readings, capturing main points, facts and descriptors

2. Summarise the notes as key concepts, questions and themes in the left-hand column

3. Write a concise summary at the bottom to reinforce understanding and aid quick revision.

Pro tip: Cover your notes column and use your key points as an exercise in active recall, can you remember the notes that accompany them?
